Rains Independent School District Board of Trustees approved the amendment to the 2024-2025 school calendar on Monday, August 26, 2024.
As part of this amendment, the last day of school is now set for May 29th rather than June 5th, with graduation scheduled for May 30th rather than June 6th.
To accommodate this earlier conclusion to the school year, some instructional days from the first week of June have been redistributed. Specifically, three school days have been added to the Fridays immediately following Spring Break (March 21, 28, and April 4), making these Fridays full school days for all students and staff.
This adjustment presents a valuable opportunity to enhance instructional time leading up to the STAAR testing.
